4 hole gives you more options. Like if you wanted to use crimp die instead of crimp and seat at the same time. Or maybe flair with one.
I use a 3 hole setup. Currently what I do is use the progressive for sizing, priming, powder dump, flair and just barely seat the bullet.
But I take all bullets then to my single stage for accurate bullet seating and crimp. Its hard for a progressive to seat and crimp consistently (to me anyway). When you consider the shell plate design, its not supported direction under the ram. But a single stage is.

Yep, the 4 station allows you to do all 4 stages of pistol loading. Decap/size, flare, bullet seat, crimp. Some rifle setups can use 4 stages too if you want to, like if you decap without sizing and crimp at the end, like with a levergun load.

I use the 4 holers. If you want, you can put 2 two calibers on one turret if you are using just the full length size and seater. This saves you a turret. I pretty much don't have to unscrew dies anymore.
