Default loading Hornady SST

Last week I picked up a box for Hornday SST for my '06. I've been shooting some cheaper PMC SPs with good results. Just thought to try a different bullet for the heck of experimenting. The Hornadys were $7 less than Sierra BTs.

Anyways, they have a red ballistic tip. Has anyone ever had problems with the tip getting mashed up or deformed when pressing them into a case?

I haven't loaded them yet, but I was just curious.

I have a Lee Anniversary press and Lee dies, if you're wondering

I have the same kit and dies. It doesn't work that way. The tip of a bullet is never in contact with anything when you seat. There is a hollowed out spot in the seater plug that lets the tip go untouched.

I have had those tips damaged cycling rounds through my savage. I have seen an article experimenting with tip damage, and in a hunting rifle, it isn't anything to worry about.
