Default Rotating Brass Inventory

I have several hundred once fired brass that i am using for reloading my 7mm Rem Mag and my 243 Win.

I have separeated them out by brand (Rem, Fed and Win) and now i am seperating them out by # times fired.

I keep them in jars labeled for example (7MM Rem Mag, Federal, 2x) This would designate 7 Mag brass by Federal that i have shot 2 times

Then when i load i only use same brand brass that have been shot the same # of times.

Is necessary to go to that level or am i going overboard?

IMO It's a good idea to keep track of how many times it's been loaded but I think sorting by lot number would have been better than just by brand.

Yikes. that's impossible now seeing as how i just shot the factory load then dumped the brass into a big container over the last 5 years

I don't mess with lot numbers and all. I do keep track of times fired. My usual method is to keep loading a set of brass until I ran thru all of it, then size, trim, prep and do it again. A usual set is 100-200 pieces.

I see some guys do a different method. They might keep loading a set of 20 over and over until it fails and then move to another set of 20 pieces.
