Default Lyman dps 3 vs RCBS Chargemaster

I want to purchase on of these powder dispensers/scale combos. Looking at lyman dps 3 or rcbs 1500 chargemaster. Thought I would ask everybody which one they reccommend. Looks like the old lymans used to have cleaning powder problems that dps 3 has fixed??? Which one does eveyone think I should buy. Thanks in advance for comments.

I have a DPS 2 with the speed upgrade making it a DPS 3, I really like it. The differences between the Lyman and the RCBS is that the Lyman is one unit, the RCBS is a separate scale and dispenser. The RCBS is rated for 300 gr larger loads and costs about $100 more. I primarily use mine to throw charges about 2/10's of a gr light and then trickle up on a separate scale. Many people just set the charge weight and rip. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. If I had to buy again I'd buy the Lyman due to the cost and size (being smaller) than the RCBS.

I use the DPS II with the upgrade kit and it works great, never have used the RCBS but don't see why it wouldn't also be a nice unit...

I have the RCBS 1500 Chargemaster and love it. It is very fast, Faster than I can work a balance beam, and dead-on 99% of the time. I used to check it every 5 loads, against my old 502 balance beam. Now I just don't bother

I bought a DPS3 some time ago. The first time I set it up and used it, it functioned fine. The second time I tried to use it, it wouldn't repeat, and wouldn't move to the next charge weight I had programmed in. I've set it aside and gone back to my old Ohaus balance beam. I need to call the factory and see what they want to do about it. It may be a simple fix, but needless to say, I'm not a happy camper over it.
