Hey, I have a L461 Sako Vixen .222 and wonder if anyone can tell me what the rifling twist is?
At present I use Winchester cases, Winchester small rifle primers, 23.5grns ADI 2206 powder pushing Sierra 55grn Game King. It shoots ok with this load around 6-9mm at 100mtrs but not consistently. I have shot red deer and tahr with this load but wonder if I would get better consistent accuracy with lighter bullets i.e. 40 to 45grn?
Any help would be appreciated.

6 to 9mm is 1/4-1/3". That's pretty outstanding accuracy at 100 meters, so I'm not really sure what you more you expect to gain unless you're shooting a full-blown competitive benchrest setup. I'd take that 1/3" and be happy knowing that your rifle shoots better than 99.9% of all rifles out there.

As for your question, you might want to try searching the Sako website (www.sako.fi). I think that they have manuals for some of their guns available for download, so you could try there.

Thanks driftrider, i have tried the sako website but there is no info as to the barrel twist rate. yep it does shoot real well but i think i could get it to do better.
