Hornady runout gauge/correcter
Just saw an ad in a gun rag today about a new Hornady runout device. From what I read, it measures runout and has the ability to correct it with the bullet in the casing.. Looks a lot like a casing trimmer body with a dial gauge and evidently a method to alter the runout. Anyone seen or used it yet? Comments??
I am going to buy one as I still am a runout nazi. But I played with one, and kept over doing it. In other words, I would try to correct and end up going too far the other way. But I am sure if I got it for a while, I would get the feel for it.
BC- seems like I read one of your posts about reducing bullet runout by partially seating the bullet and then rotating the case before final seating. I gave it a try and it seems to make a difference

Another fella on here gave even better advise. He said to take out the spring holding the shell holder and let it float. This right here has helped more than rotation. I tracked down alot of runout came from slop in shell holders. So If you can float the case and let it self center with the die, it helps alot.

I took out the spring that retains the shell holder some time ago, and use a rubber 0-ring to keep the shellholder in place on the ram. Is that what you are doing? It keeps it floating and self-centering.
