Default 7mm Rem Mag loads

I' ve always used Federal Premium bullets but now I want to try some reloads and see if I can find a decent load. Does anyone have any decent recipies that have worked for them that they will share? I' m looking at around a 165 grain bullet and I usually hunt Mule Deer and W.T.' s up in Alberta. I just would like a starting point...any other places to look for loads? thanks JDinAB

I had great luck using the 140 gr partition ahead of reloader 22.It works well on deer ,elk and moose.

I' m partial to Sierra bullets myself. H-1000 works best with 160 gr gamekings. RL-22 works best behind 140 gr gamekings. My accuracy load for the H-1000 is 68 grains, which is well below max. Good luck and be safe.

Best groupings were with Nosler Bal. 150s pushed by IMR 7625. The Nosler reloading book has plenty of good loads.

Currently I use Nosler 175g partitions so I can use them for Muleys and Elk.

Tried the 150g. Scirocco' s but wasn' t overly impressed with their performance on deer;

The 175g worked just fine for my Elk last year;

I shoot H4831 at 68.5 grains with a 140 grain nosler ballistic tip. I am very comfortable shooting deer at 300 yards with good conditions. In practice, I shoot at 430 yards and shoot a 5 inch group (I don' t guess that' s great but I' m not a professional and shoot about 300 rounds a year.) I am sighted 1-1/2 inches high at a hundred (1/2" groups), right on at 300 with 2 inch groups. I' m dropping about 15 inches at 430 yards. I shoot a mkII ruger with a pilar bedded stock and timney trigger with a nikon 3x9x50. I might add that if go to 69 grains, I start having stiff bolt opening symptoms so work your way up no matter whose load you start with. I started at 62 grains and worked up.

For the 7 mag, I' d be experimenting with RL-25 powder and around a 150 grain pill for deer. I' m very fond of the Swift A-frame for all hunting and besides I don' t shoot that many rounds at big game.....use other bullets for varminting and targeting....use the A-Frames for hunting only.....they' re a tad spendy and need to be conserved.....but a marvelous bullet.
