I been reading on a few different forums seem the sierra 85 grain HPBT seem to be the shooters choice in the 243 cal. for deer flat shooting hard hitting some say the deer never new what hit him[/align]
Yes, the 85 gr is a good one. I like it a lot, but, for whatever reason, the Sierra 100 gr pro hunter shoots a little better in my rifle, and is also VERY deadly on deer.
I used to have an old Remington model 788 in 6mm Remington and Sierra 85 gr Gamekings was the DEADLIEST bullet I ever saw in an 6mm. They would also group 5 bullets into .375-.400 all day long. People that I guided for deer invariably reached for it to use instead of their own rifle. I eventually let a friend talk me out of it and still regret selling it.
