Powder for 300 Ultra Mag

I have been reloading for about a month,and have really enjoyed it. I can' t believe how addicting it is, and how much better my groups are. I started out reloading for my 30-06, but now I want to reload for my 300 ultra mag. I am planning on using 180 gr. Nosler partitions, but I was wondering what everybody is using for powder. I was considering H1000 or Retumbo.

IMR 7828, H1000, and RL25 are all good choices.....I' d get some RL25

I have been using RL25 with Barnes 180 XBT and 160XBT. Nosler 180 Partition are excellent too.

RL 22 was the most accurate for me using 165 gr. bullets. RL22 is still doing as good as any of the others using 180gr. bullets, but I think there is a velocity reduction using the heavier bullets with it. Retumbo and RL25 seem to be the best all around powder with 180 gr. bullets. I have tried all the ones listed above plus IMR 7828 and H-1000. H-1000 is the most accurate powder in my .300 WIN mag, but it is not as good in the ultra. Hope this saves you a few bucks and several shots!

I get thr best accuracy from IMR 7828 and ReLoader 22...

H1000 or Retumbo for >180gr and Re22 or IMR4350 <150gr bullets
