Default 243 vs 6mm

I have not reloaded for some time since high school many years ago. My question is this. My dad has a RCBS reloader that he uses for his 6mm and 7mm. I just purchased a 243 to start my son out hunting on. When looking at the bullets to reload they say 6mm cal/.243 diameter. Do these two weapons fire the same bullet but use a different casing? If they fire the same bullet can I use the 6mm dies or do I need to purchase the .243 dies?

Thanks

The 6 MM and .243 shoot the same bullet but have different cartridges. You will have to purchase .243 Winchester dies...
