load for .308 win. 150 gr ballistic tip

I am looking for a good hunting and accurate load for 150 grain ballistic tips. For my remington 788 .308.

Run your loads just under book max, after careful load developement, the 9 rear locking lugs of the 788's will suffer from bolt compression if ya run it hard, and look into win 748, its the powder for a 308

also how would you all compare the sst bullet to the ballistic tip. Sounds like it is a little toupher bullet, how about the accuracy?

at308 velocities the BT will do fine, probably better than the hornady (your right the SST is tougher) I'd bet the BT would shoot better.

Thanks for the input guys I bought some varget powder and ended up with the 150 gr combined tech. bullet that is all sportsman warehouse had.

I will let you know how the loads work out.

tired 45 grains varget with the 150 grain ct bullets ok not there yet will try varying up and down in.5 grain increments.

best group to date is dime covered 3 shot group with 46 gr. varget and the 150 grain ct silver tips, and federal lr primers
