Default Crimp Die: Lee vs. Redding

Right now, I have a Redding profile crimp die for my 45 Colt. It seems to work, but more like a taper crimp die. There isn't much roll crimp.

How does the Lee factory crimp die work compared to the Redding? I would like to see the die roll crimp more to create a positive lock on cast bullets with a groove.

I will be getting hte Lee for my 444 marlin. I have not used it but these pictures from Beartooth bullets sells the die pretty well.

I use a Lee crimp for my AR but stick with the RCBS seat diefor my revolver ammo.As long as cases are trimmed to same length they put a consistant roll on my 357 fodder. If cases are inconsistant with any die I think there could be a problem.

I have the profile crimp die and it just seems like it doesn't roll crimp. I think I will play around with some more extreme crimping and see how much roll crimp I can get. I just tthought if there was a simple answer like get the Lee FC die, I would go that way.
