Default .223 brass vs ammo

I am in need of some .223 ammo. Anybody know of a place with reasonably priced brass. Looking at midway and natchez, looks more economical to buy loaded plinking ammo, shoot once, then reload.

$ 00.20 each for brass vs .$00.40 for plinking ammo

if thats what your looking for you could try ultramax reman or black hills, loaded with lake city brass its very good brass. great ammo also. The "cheap plinking ammo" is loaded with cheap brass, some of the mil surp ammo is good brass some not.

Black hills is really good stuff, but getting expensive in my area. Ultramax is junk. I shot through 2 boxes of Ultramax 52gr match ammo this weekend and had 3 rounds out of 100 that wouldn't even chamber. I shot this stuff despite reading a lot about kabooms, inconsistant bullet seating, and damaged brass attributed to ultramax ammo on arfcom.

I would go check the local range and pick up what you can there. That = Free for your brass. Not sur ehow it is there, but on the range here, most guys don't keep their brass, so there is pleanty out there.
