Default BAR 30-06 CASE NECK DAMAGE

Gentleman
I bought a BAR 30-06 a few years ago and have been wanting to start reloading, but I noticed that the gun kinks/dents the neck case. Is this common, and will normal resizing take care of this?
TIA

Yes, it's very common with automatics and yes resizing will solve the problem...........however, if it's very severe dents, what I did was kept a loaded FMJ lying on my loading desk and by shoving the pointy end of this bullet into the case, it would straighten the dented neck out enough for easy sizing without further problems.

Not to worry!

the only thing i would do is pay close attention to the case necks to make sure that they arent split after you size them. a friend of mine loaded for a 7400 rem and he was getting splits after 4 or 5 reloads.

Claydee, I've noticed with automatics that like to slam the case neck into the receiver during ejection that this habit can sometimes be eliminated or at least improved by changing the power of your load slightly. The higher the pressure, the faster and more violent will be the ejection and vice versa. Going up or down a couple of grains MAY solve this problem for you.

Just a thought.
