Default RE: Porcelain Media

I haven't used it but here are a few reviews and opinions.

5 out of 5 [/align]Ceramic cleaning of straight wall cases, July 7, 2007

"I have used the same bucket of the cylinder media for well over 3 years. With a little change in my cleaning procedure and a trip to a kitchen supply store for a large colander, I get 200-250 .45 ACP cases that look factory new in under 2 hours. I use the same Lyman vibratory tumbler that I have for the past 15 years and the cylinder-style media as they clean the primer pocket best and are too large to stick in the flash hole.
All the dirt goes right down the drain and no more dirty used media. I have found that using just two capfuls of Tumble Bright and two capfuls of water cleans much better than the instructions say. As long as you do not let the mixture dry out from the motor heat, (~2.5 hours) the energy is used to move the media and cases, not a heavy load of water. After separating the mixture in a Lyman sifter and blowing off the excess water with compressed air, you can dry them just in air, with a hair dryer or in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 200 F.
If the media starts to look a little dirty and does not clean as it once did, soaking them overnight or up to 24 hours in toilet bowel cleaner brings them back to life. There is just no better and faster way to clean straight wall cases."

"THE MEDIA GETS THE BRASS CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT - EVEN THE PRIMER POCKETS. 22 CAL. AND SMALLER IT TENDS TO GET PACKED IN THE CASE. ANY BRASS WITH BIGGER NECKS WORKS FINE. TAKES A LITTLE LONGER THAN THEY SAY, BUT DOES A GOOD JOB...."

"Purchased the 3mm beads and have used to clean hundreds of 45 acp, 40 SW, and 9mm cases in the past few days. I use a rotating barrel tumbler purchased elsewhere and the included tumble bright. Cases come out sparkling like new after a few hours of tumbling. The best batches come out clean inside and out. With the 45 cases, the 3mm beads can get stuck in the primer pockets but they pop out easily with a dental pick and get put right back in the mix.
I expect to be using the same batch of media for quite some time. The tumble bright solution seems to work very well and I still haven't used a whole ounce of it yet as you don't need much tumble bright/water solution at a time. I mixed an ounce with a gallon of water as instructed and have used about 1/4 of that on over 800 cases."

"Does not work well in a vibrator polisher. to much weight should be used in a tumbler."
