9mm question

Looking for a defense load for a 9mm. Something more than factory loads, won't blow up the gun, but might approach 40 s&w in power...any ideas? Thanks.

I shoot 7gr of HS-6 with 115 XTP. That shoots around 1200fps, but you can easily buy factor loads +P that do the same thing. Your not going to exceed factory by much. I never play around and go over max load with semi pistols. Can be dangerous quickly.

First thing to look at is what pistol are you trying to do this in? Not all guns are created equal. What works in one may shuck out another after a few rounds.

Be careful using your self defense loads to shoot an assailant; you could be charged with conspriacy (even though it probably won't stick). The assailant's lawer will try to prove you loaded your defense loads just to shoot the assailant. For actual self defense loads I use factory. Good luck.
