Default Tumbling shot shells????

While out waterfowl hunting a couple of weeks ago, I managed to get an unfired box of 3 1/2 BB damp, and it rusted a bit. Do you think it would be safe to run these through a tumbler to clean them up?

Personally, I wouldn't consider it. At all.

I personally didn't think it would be an issue, but I just wanted to get some input from everyone out there. Maybe someone has some experience with this, be it good or bad. I just hate to waste a full box of shot when I possibly have the means to clean it up.

Most of the swamp water around here is very caustic. One of my buddies blued barrel actually showed pitting after one half day of hunting last season. My shells aren't that bad, but I cleaned them with a brass bristled brush, and lightly oiled them, and there is still small spots trying to come back.
