45-70 shot shell ?
Are you aquainted with a 45-70 shot shell ? Ive looked around and all I've found is "you'll blow the 410 case in a 45-70 chamber" . Was it an adaptation like the shot shells in pistols ? Or a specialty gun like that Marlin garden gun ?

No reason you couldn't make shot loads using 2.5" .410 data in a 45-70.John Wooters made a 3 ball load for small game for his 45-70 with a undershot card and one on top.The rifling will do nothing good for the shot patterns but the ball load kept all within a 3" pattern at 20 paces.I have the recipies somewhere.................Harold Brass .410 shells can be fabricated from .444 Marlin,.303 Brit and.30-40 Krag brass [reloaded with .44 mag or .444 dies. They recommend large pistol primers though]
