Default Hornady Annealing kit

Think its worth it? Only reason considering is I got brass like for my RUM's that I hate to go to waste. And I see alot of people with no luck annealing but I think they get the metal too hot or too cold.

I agree with that. But I annealed a few peiced some time ago and think I over heated it. I hear to do it right, you need to only get it to 850. Sounds like the Hornady kit is a waste. I guess I will give those temp strips for welding a try.

Go to a welding supply and get a "tempil stick". It is like a a pencil except they are for marking on metal and the mark will melt when it gets to a certain temperature. They come in differant temp. ratings. Buy the temp. you want and then mark your case on the neck.
Heat on the opposite side of the mark and when the heat melts your mark, tip it over in the water.
Hope I explained this well enough to do some good.
Good luck

There was an article by Rick Jamison in Shooting Times several months ago on annealing cases and how to do it right. I'll go back through my library and see if I can find it over the weekend.
