Default ? Swift Scirrocco

If I want to load some 150 grn. scirrocco's for a .300 win. mg. and some 165 grners for 30-06, can I just use data from a speer or noslermanual for the same weight bullet, or do I need to get Swift's reloading manual? I'm not going to be using my favorite bullet the TBBC anymore because they are just too derned expensive, that is why I'm wanting to try the scirroccos. Anyone have any TBBC's they want to sale cheap let me know!

No, you can't. At least you can't count on the max load being safe. At least the first scirroccos build pressure very fast due to the soft jacket.

Some say the new ones don't build pressure that quick. I know I was trying to use Nosler loads for 180gr scirroccos in my RUM and I saw serious pressure signs about 2gr from max.

But I have had good luck with A-Frames and nosler loads. That swift manual is expensive too.

Thanks BC. Another question, In the speer manual they list data seperately for the TBBC,s and I think it is because of the same reason that you stated about the scirrocco's ( but I don't know for a fact). I wonder if the recipes for the tbbc's would be comparable to the scirrocco's, if I remember right ( and that's a big if lol) the tbbc's required less powder to get the higher velocities as compared to other bullets of the same weight.

Its going to be a comprimise. Scirroccos won't build pressure near like TBBC. TBBC's build it like solids or barnes X. Scrirrocos is going to be between Barnes and Nosler. But again, I heard the new ones won't build pressure like the old ones.

Thx again I appreciate the info. I went to Swift's website just now, and the manual is only $30.00 bucks. I'm gonna go ahead and order the manual.
