1st Gen. Colt SAA 44/40 Pyrodex loads
I am planning on reloading for a 44/40, 1st Generation Colt "Frontier Six Shooter" SAA, that I was given as an early Christmas present. The old SAA is 50% original condition, mechanically tight and sound, with only slight pitting in the bore.
I am planning on use 30-34 grains of Pyrodex "P" and a 200gr lead cast RN bullet. Is this a safe load? If not, what would be a safe load for Pyrodex "P" and a 200gr lead RN? I just want to poke a few holes in paper at 25yds, so I am not looking for heavy loads, just a good safe load. Any input would be great appeciated.
