Default Barnes MRX Bullet

I thought it was an interesting article in this month's NRA American Hunter magazineabout the history of the Barnes bullets and their newest Barnes MRX. The author of the articles spoke highly of the design (copperalloy, grooves,or course the BT, etc.)that results in the high ballistic coefficient, controlled expansion and flatter trajectory than before.

It'll be interesting after we've heard for a year or two of people's experience with all sorts of big game how they compare to "bonded" bullets and others for high penetration and good quality of holding most of their orginal weight after impact like Accubond, Failsafe and a number of others that have shown they perform well already with heavy boned thick hide big game.

The BC's I've seen aren't impressive at all plus $30 for 20 here in ID, think I'll stick w/ Accubonds.

Yes it sounds like another great bullet but at 3 times to cost of the accubond I think everything I shoot falls fast enough with the accubond and the BT's ..

The mrx is way over priced. I do though like the regular TSX. Awesome bullet design. The MRX only has advantages out past 400 yds

Funny thing you all brought up price......
I was one who said to heck with it, and bought a box any way....
Currently, the box of 30-06 180gr.are collecting dust, cause I can't bring myself to shooting them through paper targets......
I went through that expense with other premium bullets, until I found a perfect match with the TBBC for my moose and elk load and I'll stick with them until I run out.......
I remember then,Shaking my head after everyshot.....Wondering in the world am I doing this, everyshot made at paper is another $2.00 bullet spent.....
By the end of the shooting session close to $40.00 bucks shot off, and add number of sessions, probably purchse a cow a year for every I've done this............
I remember thinking,Why the heck don't I just load up and shoot the things off at animals..
Than backits back reality....
Maybe....I'll take just them to the grave with me.....
