Default 7mm ULTRA

I have finally found a good recipe for my 7 ultra.

87 gr of RL 25
fed 215 PR
Swift Scr. 150 gr.

They = .270 groups @ 100 yards,in 10 mp winds out of my custom built.

Load at your own risk.

I must ask if that is the best single group,or the average of several groups.

ya may wanna try H869 or WC872 in that, I shoot a 7 STW and 94 gr of wc872 will run a nosler 160 @ 3340 and not going into group sizes but a .25" one is pretty big according to average. 872 is temp sensative so you don't wanna work a load up when its cold and try the same load hot.

That was an average of the four groups that I have put through a brand new rifle.

This should be a good hunting load. Is the bullet an original Scirocco or the Scirocco II?

Roskoe

It is the Scirocco II. Heck this gun has 20 rounds through it.

A guy by the name of Denney Powell out of Ruidoso NM. built it off of my old Rem 700. I am tickled pink with it. I have neverhad this rifle get .270 groups no matter what I did.

I amplanning on takeing it mulie hunting in NM this year. IF I GET DRAWN!!

Thanks

My Rem. 700 CDL 7mm RUM likes 111 grains of Accraute Arms 8700, Fed. 215 Primers, and Nosler 140gr AccuBond. My buddy's Rem. 700CDL 7mm RUM, shoots 114 grains of AA 8700, federal 215 primers, and 140gr Nosler Accubond. I'm gonna try some 160gr Accubonds ove rthe summer and see how they shoot.

well you 7 RUM shooters who don't give WC872 a whirl may be missing out, it costs 5 bucks a pound, uses the same data as AA8700.

I have developed in my head this theory of natural ballistics. Not a theory really, or even my idea. Its like the entirely perfect cal/bullet combo is 7mm/140 or something a lil on either side of that.

Seems like the 7mm RUM or 7STW is the most ballisitically perfect calibre there is bar none. If you look at the charts the dang things dont even begin to drop til after 400yrds, somethign thatCANNOT be said of my many 30-06s or 270 and 243.

Sadly a lot of magnum riflescome today with 24" bbl from the mfr when its really the 26" thats required for optimum performance.I have newish BLR 7 RemMag/24" I am gonna try Scirocco bullets in to see how it is. I am betting once Ishoot it a bunch that mymany other rifles will be gatheringdust. The rifle already has taken a cow elk with one shot at 607 measured yards by the previous owner.
