Default What powders burn the cleanest for you?

I am new to the .223 reloading in bulk quantities. I will do a lot of shooting with this gun on a Prairie Dog Hunt and do not want to have to clean the rifle between every two or three shots. In an earlier thread I said that I used some BL-C(2) with 69 gr. bullets. That worked fine. I need suggestions for the 55 gr. loads.

cma,
I'll try 3031. I have some already, but haven't tried it in my .223

I tried H414 today and it is the best so far with 55 Gr. spsx Hornadys. I am going to try some lighter bullets to see what they do. The load with the H414 was .604" for 6 shots at 100 yds. This gun should do better.

Varget is the cleanest w/ my AR's. I shoot the 69 gr #8900 Sierra with it.

If you have to clean more often that every 75 to 100 shots for PD's you may be doing something wrong

Have not reloaded for the 223 yet. Although Varget has been the cleanest powder I have worked with so far. My 204 bore looks great after 40 rounds plus of these 39 gr BK reloads. The ½" 100-yard groups leave the majority of a target clean as well.
