Default Load for .270 Win

I am in the process of starting to reload my .270 and am looking at 130 grain bullets. Any suggestions for this and a 150 grain load would be appreciated

You didn't say what you were hunting, but the 130gr Hornady SST's are great out of a 270win for deer. If you'll be hunting elk I would go with the 130gr Hornady Interbond or the 140gr Nosler Accubond. I've also heard the Barnes TSX are awesome on game, but I have no personal experience. These are my favorites, but there are many other good choices. Brett

For deer any 130gr bullet will work nicely I prefer the130 NBT under H4831. For larger 150NPunder H4831 is what i have used. Though I'd be inclined to try a 130gr Barnes TSX under one of the 4831's or RL19 if elk or moose are in the picture. I use the 140TSX in my 7mm rem mag it works awesome on elk and moose.

IMR 4064 with 130's has always been the way to go for me.

Yep. Only casewith regards to the 130/.277 that didn't exit was a flush shoulder shot 100 yards or so. In that case the bullet smashed the entrance shoulder, the bullet and bone frags took out the lungs but pentration was pretty much halted inside the scapula. That was a good sized wt buck, I don't weigh them here to often but I don't think he'd of had to much trouble tipping the 300lb mark on the hoof. Behind the shoulder no problems at all.

I have heard all the internet talk and weighed in on many of those debates as I just haven't found it to be the case in my experience with regards to the BT, stillmy favorite deer bullet and there are some pretty good choices today. I think what happens is many don't understand the design of the BT and/or blame the bullet vs the shooter. Or are basing there opinions on the old NBT that were known to be unpredictable on game. In my case I simply got ansy and pulled on him a little early, shooter failure not nosler. Common sense, pick a bullet that matchs the situation and your much better off.
