Have you used them before. I have a some factory .22 cal 55 grain saboted bullets for 30-06. They are Rem factory loads.I havent shot any of them yet. I had them given to me and had really never seen them before.

It's been at least 20 years since I've shot them out of my '06. If I recall they wouldn't group much tighterthan 2 inches but there's a lotta zip!
For grounghogs I'd say stick with 110 or 130 grain bullets, they'll outright blow 'em in half.

The only one of the Remington factory loads that has grouped well for me is the .308 Accelerator. Shot right at MOA. The 30/06 and 30/30 Accelerators were two MOA or bigger.

Remington stopped making the accelators for several years. Now they make them in 30-30 and 30-06 but not 308 not sure why

Back during Clinton's first term, I found ten boxes of the .308 Accelerators in a local gunshop and picked them up. The shop owner said that Remington had voluntarily quit making them in a .308 under pressure from the BATF. I guess they were afraid of them being used in a sniperattack - bullet would have no rifling marks on it. Didn't make much sense to me to ban only the .308 version - but I have never since seen any for sale in this caliber. And this was the only caliber in which the Accelerators were worth having, IMO.

Like the bs surrounding winchester black talons? Don't remember hearing anything about accelerators myself but when Winchester announced they were going to quit making them to shut the hysterical media up(appeared tomore or lessrebox them under the SXT name if you ask me) thatgot some rumors going; heck, I had a cop buddy of mine tell me it's a felony to own 'em! Sorry, getting off thread

Yep-that "Black Talon" fiasco would have been funny if it was not so stupid! It was the NAME that got them to stop making them! I'm surprised that they still make the BEAR CLAW!

I think the fear of the accelators is there is no rifling on the bullet after it leaves the barrel
