Default 44 mag case length

why do all my once fired brass for a 44 rem mag measure .008 -.010 shorter than reloading specs show they should be trimmed to?

What were they before you fired them? My 44 mags always stretch. I am lucky if I get 2 fires before trimming.

Resize them and measure again.
