RE: 270 Win with 110 Barnes TSX BT
Well I guess i better tell you this is my first attempt at reloading. I had help from some buddies. They would probably say they did it, which would be true for the most part. Any ways, im shooting a bone stock Model 70 Winchester Sporter with24 inch barrel.
Well I tested my first batch of loads today. Looks great so far. best group was quarter size at 100. This load was 56 grains of IMR 4350, CCI 200 Large rifle Primers, Winchester Brass and was pushing 3200 fps.
Loads using 57 and 58 grains did not show much of a increase in fps and a slight loss of accuracy.I was thinkin that maybe at 56 grains I was burning all the powder i can burn before the bullet exited the barrel, does that make since? Would trying magnum primers help increase the burn rate and produce higher fps's?
Going to go shoot a Antelope with it next week and a whitetale doe the following weekend, Ill let you know how they perform compared to the 130gr TSX BT.
