Default Reloading equipment

OK guys/gals, I have never done any reloading in my life but would like to get into it sometime. Can you all point me in the direction as to where I can get the stuff I need? Web site's would be great. I don't need the most expensive stuff out there, as long as it gets the job done. I have heard peoploe on this site say how they get better range/accuracy out of reloads so I figure I may give it a shot. Also, my father inlaw has all the equipment for reloading shotgun shells as he is big into trap shooting, will any of his equipment work on rifle reloading? I have a .270 WIN so thats what I am looking to be reloading. Any advice would be great as I don't know squat about this stuff. Thanks alot
Brandon

There is a hell of a price spread in reloading equipment. Right now, Midway USA has a Lee loading kit that comes with everything you need except a die set for about 80.00 I think. Add a set of Lee dies for the 270 and you should be able to still get the whole thing for 100.00. Its not the best set-up in the world but it will get you into the game and if you want or need, once you learn you can start up-grading. Thats the way I would go because That stuff has worked for me.

I don't do shotgun loading but I don't think those loaders will do rifle shell.

Chack out the Miday site and if you have any questions just ask.

The answer to your question concerning the ability to use the same equipment for shotgun shell loading and rifle/handgun loading boils down to this: the only common piece of equipment to both protocols is a powder scale. The presses and procedures are totally different.
James B. gave good advice--- a good basic starter kit is probably the way to get going.

Call Sinclair. They may not be the cheapest-but their sales people on a scale of 1 to 10 are a 10. The next best would be Gamalial Shooting supply. Talk to Jeff-he is a 10. All mail order places come in around a 2 or 3. The guys at Sinclair will not lead you astray. They will tell you the truth. I have dealt with them for years, and they are first class. I have learned alot from them, because they will take the time to explain things to you. Call them and you will see why I say this. Tom.
