Default Barnes solids

I am going to try loading Barnes 210gr solids in my Ruger M77 338. Is there anything I should watch out for such as copper fouling with this bullet? Any bodyhave any experience withthese in the 338win before?

They will foul the bore badly. Especially if you run other brand bullets down the bore before and afterBarnes. Barnes copper is softer than standard bullet jackets and will really cling to the bore if there's residue from other bullets there.
I have several XP100's, one I built recently that I've fired Barnes bullets only in it. It's a 308 Win andis still shooting Barnes 150 gr 30/30 HP'swell. And probably will continueuntil I try other bullets. Even after using CR10 and totally cleaning the barrel, I bet it will not shoot Barnes as well after I try other bullets in it.
If you need a solid, Barnes is the way to go. For me, Barnes bullets for deer, hogs and coyotesseem like a fixto a problem that doesn't exist.

Its going to foul badly. Unless you need a an african gun, I say stick with TSX. Doesn't foul at all.

I thought that about them. What do you guys recommend for longrange minimum damagedeer bullet witha goodB/C? I do not like the Hornandy sst's or the nosler ballistic tipsway to much damage.

TSX's usually don't cause that much damage, and has best BC out there. But I believe they fudge the numbers.

Barnes CR 10 is the best copper solvent I know of. Makes sense that Barnes would market the most powerful copper solvent.

As for deer, I can't think of any reason to shoot solids.Solids willjust wound a lot of deer.Any quality lead core bullet will do fine."Damage" to the animal is what kills it quickly. Expanding bullets cause damage.I prefer Sierra Pro Hunters and Game Kings, or Nosler Partitions. It would be very irresponsible to use solids.
