139gr or 140gr data for 7mm Rem Mag
I saw some reloading data at Alliant's website and it listed that with a 139 Hornady SP i should use 67.5 grs of Reloader 19 to get 3260 fps with a 7mm Rem Mag. Can you substitute 140 grain bullets instead of a 139?? Also when reloading data says they used a 55 Nosler Ballistic Tip can i use a 55gr SP??
Why work when you can hunt???? Heck why work at all!!

There should be no problems as you will be starting a few grains below and working up the load looking for pressure signs anyways.Even after you have a load you like and you change a bullet, primer or lot of brass or powder you should again begin with a starting load and work up again.

I don't think a 1 Gr. difference between bullets, or a 55 Gr. BT VS 55 Gr. SP will hurt. When ever I interpolate data I make sure I start with the min load. Make sure with that load from Alliant's website you reduce the load by 10%. All load data they show are Max. loads. Good luck.

The data should be interchangable between the 139 and 140 grain bullets. However, RL19 is not a very good choice for the 7mm rem mag, it's too fast burning. I've had much better luck with RL25, RL22 is good also but I've had better luck with RL25. I don't trust loading data that's printed nowadays very much, whether it be in loading manuals or from powder manufacturers. Too many lawyers involved, so involved that the data is unreliable. It's better to spend the extra $70 and get your own chronograph, then work up loads for your rifle from there.

All posts are correct......always start low and work up.....
Besides saying that 139=140 grain bullets, in .224 caliber it could be said that 52gr=55grain loads as long as you're willing to start conservatively.
