Default .40 Cal Pistol

I have a question about reloading the .40 using 135gr Sierra JHP with 8.0 grains of Unique powder. I have a Loadbooks USA manual and it only shows one load using unique and the 135 gr bullet. And the was from the Alliant powder section. My question is - Is this nota recommended load, since I could not find it in the Sierra bullet section? Max load is 8.5 grains. So I should be well under the Max. Just wanted to make sure since this is the first time I have reloaded pistol. Thanks for any input.
