Default 44mag Super Redhawk

Can any one tell me if ita is typical that they shoot 180 and 299 gr bullets real well but do not like 240gr up ? I can not seem to get under 2 inch groups at 50yds with the 240gr but found several loads right away with the 180 and 200 that group at 1 inch. Lee

Thats pretty awesome. Usually the other way around for me. But I can't say I ever got 1" groups at 50 yards with a 44 pistol. Thats some good loads. I hear about it, read about it, but dont do it. But I can't say I put in the trigger time with pistols as I would like.

bigcountry,They run about 2.5 inchs with iron sights but I am close to 70 and the eyes arnt what they used to be. Whent to the local sports store 2 weeks ago and got a wift 2x6 power 32mm pistol scope now I can see what I am looking at again. That 299 was a typo I didnot catch should be 200gr. Lee

I shoot the 44 Super Blackhawk with 245 gr bullets and get -ABOUT- a 2 to 2.5 inch group @ 50 yards. My pistol does not seem to like the lighter loads. I dont know if it is me or the pistol but just cant get it to group with light loads.I am lookig in to trying the 300+ gr. bullets to see if it will improve my groups.

just my two.

hunter338, well I tried a couple of things I roll crimp then run them through a light taper crimp to make sure the bullet is on exact center.
Accu #9 and H110 both give me groups better than I can shootwith 180gr XTP; I never shot but one load with the 200 XTP the same one that works in my contender
26gr H110 again with the double crimps. the Double crimp is what gives me 6 inch groups at 200yd with the contender. Lee
