Default barners 140 xbt

What does every one think about using 140gr. xbt's in a 30-06 for deer, and what would be a good powder and load. Thanks Rich

I wasnt aware they made them in 140 grain for 30 cal. are you sure you arent thinking of the 130 grainers?

The 130 grain X bullets should be fine for deer, at the moment im debating on wether to use my 6mm with 85 grain gamekings or loading up some of the 130 grain x bullets in my 308 for my fall new mexico pronghorn hunt.

the 6mm is a heavy barrel rifle so im not sure if I want to attempt lugging it around on the hunt, the 308 im thinking about using is a mountain rifle and is a light weight rifle and is a breeze to carry.

RWK,
i loaded barnes X 120gr for my .270 and they group like a champ. 3/4 in. at 100 yrds. powder: H4831. i just bought, loaded, and shot some Varget (same company) in a 22-250 load and that stuff performed! i've used AA and IMR, so far i'm leaning heavily toward the hodgdon powders.
