Default Timney vs Riflebasix test results.

This is for all of You who are accuracy nuts. If You hand load You are !!!!
I have been working on a Rem Mod 7, cal 7MM-08. I have tested both Rifle basix and Timney, installed them both Myself. Instalation on both was not bad, actually pretty easy.
Results.
The Rifle basix trigger will work but after adjusting it several times, I still can not get the creap out of the trigger pull. I have taken it so light that if You looked at the triggrt it woud fire. Not safe and still had creap. I got tired of adjusting and removing the stock. So I decided to order a Timney.
Results.
I followed the directions on trimming the Rem 700 Timney trigger down to size, so it would fit in to the little Mod 7. Took about an hour with a metal file and then I reblued the filed areas. I reinstalled it in theMod 7andWA LA!!! The timney hadNO and I mean NO creap at all !!!! That thing broke like a peace of ultra thin glass rite at three pounds and passed all of the safety tests with flying collors!!!!!!!!
Save Yourself a lot of time and pain in the @$$#!%^$&. Go with a TIMNEY !!!!! Two thumbs up !!!!
The only reason I posted this on the reloading section is because You can have the best hand loads in the world and if Your trigger draws in air You are defeating the purpose of reloading.
I hope this will save someone a lot of time in there quest for accuracy !!!

I don't understand. I put a RifleBasix in my 7-08 CDL last fall, and am very pleased with the results. No creep, and a crisp, clean break. Maybe you just got a lemon. They're out there in all lines . Just my limited experience.................

What was wrong with your stock trigger? In my experience remington triggers clean up pretty nicely.

I agree,Remington triggers can be adjusted without any trouble at all...

I have had luck setting up the remington trigger on maybe 2 rifles. The rest all seemed to have creep, I couldn't get out. Even took to my gunsmith to hone sear. In the end, I could have had a new trigger on it. I have worried because a few "remington certified service centers" gunsmiths told me never adjust one to below 3.5lbs. Sooner or later, problems could happen due to the springs were not made to be that light. But who knows.

I myself also am very impressed with Timney triggers. They feel very nice.

That is strange since my 40xb-ks came from the factory adjusted to 29oz.
