Default Need a .358 bullet for 35 whelen

Need a bullet for deer. Make, model, brand, doen't matter. I will be using it for close range deer work 0-100 yards.

I would use a Hornady 250 gr. RN or SP. Good luck.

I had the rem 700 35 whelen, I reloaded the 200 grains and it put a hole the size of a bowling ball through the deer. No lie, I never had 1 deer take more than 2 steps after getting hit by that round. I have recently traded it for the win 300 mag.. believe this, the 300 win mag has less recoil than my 35 hand loads

My 300 has a KDF muzzlebreak and pushes a 165 TSX or Scirroco at 3300 fps so I'm sure it will be a mule compared to my 300, it works great for the field but for 2 of my stands are in some really thich brush which would be better described as a swamp. I needed a gun that anchors them, my Father shot one last year with a 50 cal powerbelt that took all night to find and he was lost for a good bit of time, plus swinging a 26 inch barrel in that mess doesn't usually have good results. My new 750 Remington carbine in 35 whelen is exactly what the doctor ordered, it's a job specific gun and round for me, close in work. I won't even put a scope on more than likely.

I've had excellent results with both the remington 200 gr corlokts and 200 gr hornady sp's. Never needed to look for anything else. For larger game I imagine I'd move up to a 225 gr partition or the 250 gr hornady.
