HEY GUYS I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING MY FIRST CUSTOM RIFLE, ITS A HOWE 1500 BOLT ACTION AND I AM HAVIN IT REBARRELED WITH A HART 26" BARREL. I PLAN TO USE BULLETS BETWEEN 120-140GR WHAT RATE OF TWIST DO YOU THINK WOULD BE BEST, I HAVE BEEN TOLD 8 OR 9. WILL THERE BE MUCH OF A DIFF ?
My 6.5x55mm has a barrel w/ 1-7.5" twist..... good for long bullets. I have little experience w/ 120gr but I tried the 100gr..... my throat was a little long and would have had to seat the bullets out of the casing to get it close to the lands. You shouldn't have any problems w/ either.
