Default RCBS Chargemaster 1500 troubles

I purchased the Chargemaster back in December for my own Christmas present.

I ran into a few problems but figured most of them out, except one. One problem posted a while ago dealt with scale lag, I consistently ran over about two tenths of a grain every time. Quick and obvious fix, set your desired load -.2. It may stop right on or slightly under. Do two things, lift the pan up to get the scale moving again. This will tell you your exact grains and if you need to add justa tenth more, tap the end of the spout lightly until a granular falls out or until u achieve your desired load.

The second problem, have any of you seen this??????

The whole left side of the numeric pad give the readout of the center of the pad...for example when I push the 1 button, a 2 comes on the screen. When I push the 4, a 5 comes on the screen. I can manage, I just have to use the trickle button a little more. I am sending it back to RCBS but was wondering if anyone has seen this problem?????

I haven't had any of those. My 1st charge is over 99% of the time but if I dump it and re-enter the weight the rest (ok I might have 2 out of 20 that are a hair over) are right on the money, but yes I would contact RCBS and let them fix it or send me a new one (assumming you haven't dropped off the back of the truck or something)

I had same issues years ago. But thought RCBS was able to speed up time on them. I took mine back. Too bad they haven't fixed all that yet.

Never dropped it. The overrun is an easy fix.

BC,
Did you have the same numeric pad problem or just frustrated with the over run???

I have the older style RCBS Powder Pro digital scale and the Prowder Pro dispencer. It was not working right either so two years agoI sent them to Pact Inc the company who makes them RCBS. Not only did they fix the problem but they also upgraded it so it flows twice as fast and it can dispence up to 150 grains instead of just 100. From my understanding the new ChargeMaster Combo it just as fast as my upgraded system and it goes upto 300 grains. Its suppose to be a better until, time will tell I guess. I sure do like myupgraded system no problems so far.

I've never seen the need for them. I tried one at a friends house once, never again. I can throw loads with my Redding Micrometer Powderer more accurately and faster than the digital BS anyday. Once I get it set I can throw within a 1/2 tenth of grain consistantly.
