Has anyone had any success loading the 200 gr. Accubond for a 300 WSM. I'm some what new to reloading and been hesitant to load such a long bullet. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
My brother in law loads this bullet in a 30/06 Ackley Improved and has taken several head of African plains game with it. He shot through both shoulders of a Kudu back in 1991, so it has plenty of penetration.

If you want to use Nosler 200 gr. AB's go for it, just make sure you start at MIN load. Since it is a long bullet, it will intrude in powder space which will reduce preformance levels. Good luck.

Thanks. I've been using the 180 gr Partition with good results. This is mainly an elk gun for Montana, and Accubond has such a good BC that it carries alot more energy at longer ranges. I just noticed that the Barnes 165 gr XLC has a good BC with higher velocity than the Accubond. Should be good on elk too. Any results or comments?
I haven't used the 165 XLC yet, but I think I should get about 3100 fps muzzle velocity which should translate to about 2500 fps @ 300yds with the energy being about 2300 ft-lbs. That is about 500 ft-lbs more than the 180 Partition. If I can get an accurate load, it should be good on elk.
I personally prefer the 200-grain Accubond or partition bullet over the 165 X-type in .308" diameter for elk. In 7mm, I use the 175-grain Nosler Partition for this - just conservative, I guess. If there was a 175-grain 7mm Acubond, I'd use that!
