Default After further inspection-primer fired

I have used a kenetic bullet puller for years and have heard a few timesof primers going off while hammering the puller. But I hadn't had any problems so I kept on using it. While pulling a bullet and tapping on a concrete floor, as I always have done, there was a sharp noise and then the puller came apart just below the area that holds the case. At first I just thought it had seperated from a lot of use but checked the primer and it was fired. Most all the powder was out of the case so it didn't light off the whole load. I still haven't found the bullet. I used my new Foster bullet puller to pull several others and they came out without any defects or scratches of the them. No more hammering for me!

I've pulled hundreds of bullets (probable more ?) with an inertia puller without ever a hint of something like that happening. I've never even seen or heard of it happening. (and i sold a pile of them over the years)

I'd like to know what case ect.. this happenedto, and also i'd like to see some pictures... Could you please post some for all of us to see???

I had this very thing happen too!!! I was using an inertia puller and luckily I was only pulling a round that had no powder in it. I was testing seating depths and the only brass I had was ones I had already primered. When I hit it I heard a loud POP and then I heard something bouncing around in the rafters of my basement. After further inspection I found that the primer did go off. Imagine if this would have been a charged round.......300RUM!!!! I probably wouldnt be here typing.
