Default Scirocco II

Seems the Scirocco has been redesigned. This concerns me because the orginal shot great in my 300. Anybody have the specifics of what was changed?

Anyone willing to lay odds on how long before there is a Sierra bullet advertisement added to this thread?

This is the first I have heard of it. Sure hope they don't change the 180 gr. .30 caliber or the 130 gr. .270 caliber.

Well, myself, I will stick with my gameking. It will stay together at speeds well over 3600fps.

Of course Sierra, I expect my check to be mailed to me by the end of the week.

I just got off the phone with Swift. They changed the alloy of the copper jacket. Made it a little tougher, which will reduce copper fouling and enhance the across-the-board accuracy potential of the bullet. Downside is that the bullet is going to produce a little smaller wound channel and provide a little more penetration.

I'm getting on the phone tomorrow morning and ordering all the 130 grain .270 caliber original Scirocco's I can get my hands on. This is, IMO, the most lethal .270 bullet ever designed.

Bill Hober Presdent and CEO of Swift Bullet company called and we discussed the Scirocco II. What Roskoe said is true, seems people with high velocity (Warbird, Ultra mags)guns were shooting deer at 80 yards and the bullets were not holding together well, the orginalScirocco's were designed to strikeanimal's at 3000 fps down to 1440 fps, the Scirocco II is designed to strike animals up to 3300 fps down to 1700 fps. So it seems they have toughened the Scirocco, enough Mr Hober said it's almost as tough as the Aframe.Well I will wait and see, I have ordered enough orginal'sto keep me happy for some years to come, wish I had more money to by 270 and 7mm bullets. I am looking forward to the 25 cal bullet though.
