Default .264 Win Mag

Well in my weakness for Remington Classics I have purchased a 1986 model --> 264WM. The rifle is in great shape for its age and looks to have A LOT more life in it. I know the stigma with overbore, but with today"™s cartridges the 264 fits right in.

Can anyone give me a good deer load for the 120-200# range. I was looking at the 130gr scirocco. The BC is (claimed) .571 and I think it would be great bullet at the 3000+ speed.

Will consider any suggestions. All load/bullet combos would be appreciated.

Thanks

My brother shoots a 264 too. He has been eyeballing that 130gr Sciroco too. Unfortunately he has not been able to find anyone who has them in stock. If you find a source I would sure like to hear about it.

I understand the new 6.5MM Sciroccos are not yet available, but should be soon. Based on the performance of the 130 gr. .270 Scirocco's, this bullet should be the last word in huntingbullets for the .264 and the 6.5-284. RL22 is a good powder for .264 Win Mag with bullets in this weight class.

For deer hunting, the 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip is legendary.

A follow up note.
Atmy familieschristmas party my brother proudly showed off his new 6.5mm 130gr Sciroccos. He said he ordered them online, direct from SWIFT.
On a side note, SWIFT has an announcement on thier web site indicating that they are developing a 25 cal Scirocco.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I'm building a 6.5X'06 Ackley and things are looking up. Do they make a 140gr bullet? RL22 is on my top 3 list of powders. This is getting good with the Sciroccos. Regards, Rick.
