I got ya covered.

I loaded up like 20 rounds of 46, 47, 48gr of 4064 with 210 primer at 3.3COL, 130gr sierra gameking. I did this for my 7400 semi. But, it wouldn't cycle good. So just by chance, I told my friend to try them in his Model 70. I was shocked, his gun that was a good 2MOA gun now all the sudden was a .6MOA gun with the 47gr. Not one group but almost 5 groups were under 1MOA and averaged .6MOA. Bad part it isn't a fast load. Its only pushing 2870fps in a 22" barrel. But he loves it.The 48 definately wasn't as good.I have tried some 55gr 4350 loads but were medocre results of around 1.2MOA with the occasional flyer. So he's happy.

First of all, if you are looking for accuracy and not a hunting bullet, then you need to be shooting Sierra Match King bullets. Second, the 4064 should be a great powder. Start at a moderate load and work up 1/2 gr at a time until they start going ballistic. Third, get yourself an OAL gauge and figure out where the "sweet spot" is for your particular rifle. Don't look for spectacular results in the 270 as it has never done well at Camp Perry. Having said that, I reload for my brother and a neighbor that both shoot very tite hot loaded deer hunting combos that group very nicely with their 270's. One like Noslers and one likes the Sierra Pro Hunters. It takes time and patience. Between the Noslers, and Sierras, you should find a great combination for your 270. The Hornady's shoot and group good, however, I have had bad luck with their performance on deer. Good luck and regards, Rick.
