Default Who's brass do you like, and don't like.

Was looking at Cabelas and all the reloading stuff is on sale, I need some brass and usually buy Hornady, but it's expensive. Winchester and Remington is half the price of Hornady, but hows the quality?

There's lots of opinions on brass.....as far as I'm concerned the only bad brass said "HERTERS"

Hornady makes usually hard to find brass.....

Winchester and Remington make fully usable brass IMO

Cheap is good!!!

well, I prefer Winchester brass... just because I like having only one brand of brass rolling around in the spent bucket or whatever I'm storing them in waiting for the tumbler...

Federal my favorite but soft. Nice consistent necks.
Winchester has been nice.

Remington, sometimes is good. But these days its so dinged up, I hate it. Once I get them sorted, and necks right, they are good.

That"™s one thing for sure, I do lots of work to get the Remington brass ready for reloading.

Trailer if you can get the ones that are packed in cardboard they are pretty good shape. My complaint was with my 300RUM brass. Rudest brass I ever seen. Thats all the new remington brass I have bought in the last 2 years. Since then its been winchester, and federal. Maybe the RUM brass is so big, its hard to manufacture?

BC, I"™ve never seen the brass packaged in cardboard but I will keep my eyes open for some just in case. All the brass I"™ve seen is in plastic bags. Two years ago I ordered some brass and I couldn"™t believe what the new brass looked like for my 350 Rem. mag. I mentioned it before paying for it and they said that all the Remington brass was like that , and all this time I thought it was virgin brass.

Maybe they don't package like that anymore. But I got some winchester 45-70 brass the other day in the bag, and it doesn't look like someone steped on it. I might call remington. Might get some compensation but I ain't holdin my breath.
