Default Rem Mtn LSS Loves Accubonds

Finished up a set of Accubond work up loads for my 7MM-08 this morning. These were 140Grn Accubonds on top of Varget with Rem Brass & CCI primers. Overall average group @ 100 was .590". Now if these things work on game as good as they shoot, I'm all set.

40.0 .596
40.5 .370
41.0 .610
41.5 .880 (one flyer)
42.0 .495

Dark lines = 1/2", Light lines = 1/4"

firstshot,

Thanks for the posting. I finally found some of the 150 grain .308 Accubonds for my '06 and .308, and have just started testing them. All the bullets in 2 boxes weighed 150 grains, +/- .2 grains. The diameters mic within .0002". I've never seen bullets this consistent before. Good luck.

I'm with you on the 42.0Grn. This is primarilly a hunging rifle, so would like the extra velocity from the 42.Grn vs the 40.5Grn.

I agree. I started measuring the OGIVE of the bullets for consistency and quit after the first 15 were exactly the same...no variation at all. As far as weight is concerned, they all weighed out within +- .1grn. The consistency certianly shows in the groups.

In every gun that I've ever shot them, the Sierra Game Kings have always grouped tighter than any other bullet I've tried. I've always used them to "set the benchmark" for accuracy. The Accubonds are the first bullets to break this rule.

Good luck, and let me know how the Accubonds shoot in your 30-06 & 308.

firstshot,

I'll keep you posted on test results. With all the test I want to run it may take me the rest of the summer to get it done. I want to test two powders, and two batches of cases. One is Lapua and the other is Winchester .280 that I converted to .308. Please keep us posted on how things work out for you.
