Default Loading .223 to .22 Hornet Performance?

Has anyone ever downloaded a .223 Reminton to .22 Hornet velocities with .22 Hornet bullets? I was thinking of buying one of the new CZ 527 bolt actions rifles in .22 Hornet - but if this download will work with good accuracy, there would be a lot more versatility in getting one in a .223. Thanks. Roskoe.

Roskoe,? why would you want to shoot the hornet(smaller grained bullets) in the 223 slower. What are you looking for with a slower bullet? Your choice of gun is great and both calibers are neat. What the heck just buy two guns. lol vangunsmith

I do , for barn yard work .
I found this Load Data at Savage Shooters web page for blue dot in the 223.
I load 12 gr with a 45 gr hornet class bullet for about 2500 fps ,a great shooting load , as quiet as a 22 lr or real close .
I have used this load for years from several sources

Thanks, Johnch. I was hoping for something a little quieter than the .223, and with a little more punch than the .22 LR. This should work great.

neat idea, never thought about reducing loads for the 223. Ive reduced loads using H4895 in my 30-30 with good results. good luck

I thought about doing this. I was thinking about slowing down a heavy bullet like a 55gr or 60gr bullet.
