John Chapter 1..1-5

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

What do these verses say to you?
That God was in the beginning. He was THE Word. The Word created ALL THINGS . In Him/ Jesus is the Word that "became flesh and dwelt among us."Verse 14 The darkness does not understand it. In 1John it also says "The world does not know Jesus ,therefore it does not know us.

Chuck to me these verses are teaching in a very beautiful way , the concept of God manifest in the flesh.

Chuck, it means alot to me! Those that don't believe in Jesus will

It's a great discription of the fact that Jesus was with God in the beginning! That Jesus is in fact God! It's wonderful and promising for those of us who believe! Where would we be without the Word of God? Praise Him!

Chuck just out of curiosity why didn't you use the KJV? BTW a Bible study is a good idea.

You won't believe it. I usually only use the King James. I have it logged in on my favorites. When I went there I found it to be NIV. I enjoy KJ's too. One good thing with the NIV is that it writes the imfo in paragraph form.What i could do is .Look at the NIV .See where the paragraph is and then post those verses in King James. How does that sound?
