What is your folks opinions on Christians playing Halo 2 and such violent games on the Internet. My 20 year old son does that quite abit. Do any of you folks have a word of advice for my son? By the way, he is very good.LOL

Chuck my opinion of violent video games is not real high, I will not allow them for my kids still home, but a 20 year old is not a kid.

Just to clarify a bit though Chuck, I only have 3 left at home the twins 13, and my 18 year old step-daughter, all girls, they are not into the violent games any how. I really do not have a problem with a 20 year old playing them, but I do worry about young children playing them, it may give them an idea that killing is a non-personal thing.

I personally believe you are correct. He will probably shed some light on his feelings later. He just left for work. He's a good boy but I'm even noticing alot of this is going on even among his youth friends. I've watched him play before. Lots of blood shed and on line you can here the other remarks from the other players. SOme are not to nice. I guess it could be a witnessing tool ???? but I don't think they are doing thatLOL

So true, when one is killing there is not a lot of opportunities for witnessing![8D]

Just remember that God knows your heart. What is in your son's heart when he plays? Violent thoughts? I doubt that's true. Does he play so much that other parts of his life suffers? That can be a problem too.

If the game isn't a way to act on violent urges, and if it isn't becoming an idol to him, I don't see a sin issue here.

I concur with this, thinking back we played war games when I was a kid and it was simply play, there was no malice in our hearts.

Chuck I bet if your son is good then its not a matter of playing for the violent nature of the game its fun to try and pass the levels of the game. Its a challenge and Halo is one of the best games ever made. I know myself and others around the age of 30 to to 40 love to play every Saturday night. we hook up 8 different xboxes and 8 different tvs in 8 different rooms and play 4 on 4. I see nothing wrong with the game its not about the killing its about playin with your friends or saving the world.

I'm sure he would concur with you. His whole work place is on line. Sometimes I hate to say it but I slide into those self-righteous religious modes. I see something questionable and go off on a tangit. When I walk in love I thank God he's not on drugs and all his friends hang around our house. They think I'm cool. I'm not sure if that's a complement or not.LOL

Confused Parent

Shucks I mean Chuck
