Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
What does this mean to you? What does it mean to fulfil a law? Is this verse speaking of the the prophetic verses ? The Law of Moses ? The Writings ?

Matt 5:..... one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
it WAS fulfilled a short time after he spoke those very words....ALL of it at His death.
New Covenant....New Way...it's too simple for the complex adult mind.
Luk 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
So are we to take that both of these verses are saying the same thing ? Notice that the first verse says " concerning me "?

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Please take note that there is one very important qualifier in this verse, that qualifier is Christ saying "concerning me".
Unless one would be adding to Christ's own words he is spelling out that he has fulfilled all written about him.
Has the entire Old Testament been fulfilled? No it has not, how can one disregard all of the Old Testament? Christ in his own words said that he fulfilled all in the Old Testament concerning him! He did not say that all of the Old Testament was fulfilled, he said what concerned him was fulfilled.
Leaf tying the 2 together indicates that all written in the Old Testament has not been fulfilled with the exception of Christ fulfilling all that is concerning him in the Old Testament.

In Matthew 24, Jesus is asked an important couple of questions. Read it and then notice all the times He uses the phrase"these things" in His answer. And notice these verses: Matthew 24:34 "Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." Matthew 23:36 "Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation." Mark 13:30 "Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." Revelation 1:1 "The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John," The KJV & NKJV say "shortly take place", meaning it was immeadiate.
(emphasis mine)
There are more.
Matthew 24:15
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
Here is once again Christ speaking of things yet to come prophesied by Daniel.

Taz,
Yes, it was yet to come for them, but it is in the past now. Daniel was prophesing of the desolation of Jerusalem when Roman soldiers were surrounded it. And the Abombination of those "unclean" people standing in the Holy Temple and in the Holy city of God. The parallel verse to that one is Luke 21:20, it says "œBut when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near." So it was fulfilled in A.D. 70 when Rome destroyed Jerusalem.
