Default Once saved always saved?

How can a Christian believe in this idea of never being able to be lost? If you agree that the scriptures are inspired by God, (meaning He knew these folks were "saved" at one point) how do you explain these Biblical examples of Christians who fell from grace?

Demas - 2 Timothy 4:10
Hymenaeus & Alexander - 1 Timothy 1:18-20
Some Galatians - Galatians 5:4-7
Simon the sorcerer - Acts 8:9-24

One CAN lose their salvation. Read this:
James 5:19-20 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Very clear a Christian CAN lose their salvation.

Thanks Moose, I knew we would agree. You can be kinda rude at times but I think you just want to do what you understand is right! Thank you and keep on posting those great thought provoking posts! I'd love to hear what any of the others think also.

Demas. This is discribed in Matt. 13:20,21
Hymenaeus and Alexander They were never Baptised! Therefore according to you they were obviously not saved. It simply says they had faith. I'm playing by your rules.
Some Galatians - They tried to live by the Law. We need grace for a reason. Can you be saved through the law?
Simon 8:21 ... for your heart is not right in the sight of God. So did his heart change that fast? He was trying to use the gospel to make money. God would obviously be able to see this. He knows what is in our hearts.

I will post some scripture later.

Now isn't that convenient! [8D]

Actually you just made the point stronger. This type of person hears the word, and receives it, but doesn't presevere.

According to Galatians 1:6, you are incorrect. Paul said that they were removed from him that called them into the grace of Christ. They were in the grace of Christ. They were removed from him that called them.

If he repents and makes it right with God. YES. My faith is in Jesus Christ. It's not in myself.
